Invoicing glossary

Net 30

Net 30 is a payment term meaning the full invoice amount is due within 30 days of the invoice date.

Net 30: a clear definition

“Net” refers to the full amount owed, and the number is the number of days the client has to pay. Net 30 is common for business-to-business work; you'll also see Net 7, Net 14, and Net 60.

Shorter terms generally get you paid faster, so many freelancers and small businesses use Net 14 or even due-on-receipt. Whatever you choose, state it clearly on the invoice and include a specific due date.
